Rough Diamond Buyer Requirement

A large middle-Eastern buyer of Rough Diamonds is looking to augment his supply chain. The buyer is able to purchase significant volumes of rough diamonds, and as a purchaser of volume has an expectation of sharp pricing.

Carat Weight: 5 to 30 carats
Shape: MAKEABLE/ SAWABLE
Clarity: IF -VS2:
QUANTITY: 20,000++ CARATS per month
SHIPMENTS: Malca-Amit/Brinks
PAY TERMS: After Inspection of Diamonds transfer from Malca-Amit/Brinks escrow:
TERMS: Spot with rolls and extensions

Below are the Buyers preferred procedures

Terms: Spot with rolls and extensions.

  • Seller produces a  manifest/price list and agrees to Buyers procedures
  • Seller agrees to a 48 hour lockout on behalf of the Buyer
  • Buyer agreeither accepts or rejects within 48 hours
  • If Buyer accepts, he will issue a signed Letter of Intent.
  • Seller will respond with a Standard Purchase Agreement (SPA)
  • Buyer will response with a signed SPA. (IFMA Fee Agreement for intermediaries) and proof of funds deposited into an escrow account at Malca-Amit or Brinks specifically reserved to this transation. *
  • Seller to then produce an exact and unchangeable manifest with SKR from M-A/Brinks that will for the basis of the transaction and also supply the Buyer with satisfactory Kimberly Certification for the entire manifest.
  • Assuming all is in order, the Buyer and Seller will attend the Tabletop meeting at a M-A/Brinks location** 
  • The Buyer accompanied by his gemologist will arrive for examination of the parcels in the manifest starting with the largest, highest quality parcels and working their way down until random sampling can be undertaking.
  • Funds will be transferred from Buyer's escrow to Seller's Escrow at the end of each day for all parcels that have been cleared.
  • The examination process should take no more than a week depending on the size of the parcel.

    * Both Brinks and Malca-Amit require POP before they will release POF. If the seller does not require a POF then this step can be skipped. 
    ** Tel Aviv, Geneva, Antwerp and New York are preferred but the Buyer will travel to other European and US cities as long as there is a M-A/Brinks secure office.
